calling all PYT's, part 3
erin and claudia are starting from scratch!
oh sorry! did we scare you? don't worry- we're not going away or anything. in fact, we're having a little party and we hope you'll come.
this wednesday, claudia and erin are going to be spinnnnning at smith's pub (777 Courtney street) betwen 9PM and 1AM.
they'll be playing their lifestory on the record machine, tape-deck, and cd player. what? no iPods?
nostalgia!
everything is better in retrospect. 90s? soul? punk? rave? oh my god, we can barely contain ourselves! come and get sucked into their prime. lets call it a prime-warp. can you dig it? we can.
there will be burgers and beer on special (to remind us of the times that carbs weren't so flippin' demonized. prime-waaaaaaaarp!)

calling all pyts, part 2
We're having a little party.
Leslie Wiegand is a local Victoria artist who operates under the paint-name Somebunny. She claims to have been born in a farm full of feral kittens, but that may be a stretch of the truth, as she is lovely and has no claw scars. Somebunny's work is a combination of her inspiration and texture, drawing her stories from said barn, squally coastal forests, and half-narratives of fairy tales and family histories. Each piece of plywood is carefully chosen by Somebunny, who looks at the particular grains and shadows of each piece in hopes of adding to tone, and evoking texture. Her work has illuminated Rebel Rebel, and we want to show her how happy her paintings have made us.
Randi, creator of the recycled leather Ora Bags, is fascinated by other people's stories. The looseness and supple bulk of leather-worn dancing, shivered in, scraped across sidewalks, tenderly removed, passed from hand to hand to hand and slipped on as a symbol-is a legacy she wishes to continue. Her bags begin as rescued leather pants and jackets, and are reincarnated. She wants them to hold your love letters, your bad decisions, your compact. She wants you to wear them, and to continue their adventure.
Please drop in on January 28th between 6 and 10PM for A Handmade's Tale, so we can celebrate our Victoria talents. We'll bring some refreshments, you bring your lovely selves. We can't wait to see you there.
